Welcome to the official website of Stonožka, the children’s book imprint of the Slovak publishing house IKAR, a.s., based in Bratislava.

Stonožka is a literary companion for children aged 0 to 12. Its symbol, the centipede, reflects the rich diversity of themes and genres within children’s literature. Stonožka offers young readers a wide range of books, including fiction, poetry, and popular non-fiction by both Slovak and international authors.

The youngest children will delight in board books and nursery rhymes; preschoolers will enjoy poems, fairy tales, colouring books, and activity workbooks. Early readers are supported in developing reading comprehension, while older children can explore a variety of prose stories, legends, and their first encyclopedias.

With its cheerful spirit and steady pace, Stonožka guides children step by step, year by year, from the land of letters into a world of books filled with imagination, knowledge, and countless memorable experiences they will carry with them throughout their lives.

Stonožka dreams that every child will read at least 100 books.
